What is The Order of the Eastern Star?
The Order of the Eastern Star is one of the largest organizations in the world. It was established in 1850 by Robert Morris, a free mason, lawyer, and educator. It is a charitable organization which includes biblical teachings and is open to all monotheistic faiths. A deep fraternal bond exists between all of it's members.
Who Can Join?
Membership in the Order of the Eastern Star is open to women 18 years of age or older who is the wife, mother, widow, sister or daughter of a Master Mason in good standing, as well as Master Mason in good standing in their Masonic Lodge. What are the Purposes and Goals of the Order?
To provide an organization where women and men with high moral and social character, can join together and contribute time, energy and wisdom to our Order with Charity, Truth and Loving-kindness.
What Service Does Divine Light Provide to the Community?
Divine Light is a very active contributor to the Tallahassee Community. We have adopted a street and families, we support our local hospice, Red Cross, community centers, Girl Scouts, Meals on Wheels, and more.
